Roley Pool BBQ's 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 1
I am assuming that in the past the idea of rejuvenating the old stone BBQ's at Roley Pool has been raised.

Anyone know if this is the case and if so what came of it. Obvioulsy they would have to be gas nowdays but it would be such a lovely area to revive.

Regards

Hi,

I live by Roley Pool, have a little bit to do with the area and I don't know of any plans to put in a gas BBQ on the site. I have mixed feelings on it: It would be fantastic asset but some people that use the area leave a lot more than footprints!

The best person to talk to about it would probably be Pat Hart(councillor) who has a long term interst in the area and would have more ideas on its feasibility.

Incidently, there will be a tree planting day down there on the 28th August (9-12am). Details should be posted on the SERCUL/Roleybushcare websites.

Cheers

Paul

I know exactly what you mean Paul and it was the first thing that came to my mind as well. There is often some litter around in the summer months when it is used more.

Having said that, I would rather see something modest but functional made of the area and then pick up a few bits of litter myself than leave it as is and seemingly neglected. Once an area looks like it is being cared for and improved there is likely to be less trouble not more I should hope.

Evil will prosper if good men do nothing...or something like that.

Can not make the tree plant sadly as we will all be "out of town" that Saturday.

Is there a Roleystone Progress Committee?
